About Rob

Rob Schumann has resided in the Atlanta Area since 2001. He is a graduate of Kennesaw State University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music with a concentration in classical guitar. His formal education has included instruction from Mary Akerman at Kennesaw State University and Dr. Mario Abril at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Professionally, Rob has experienced a wide array of environments and styles throughout his musical career. In 2002, he joined the faculty of the Atlanta Institute of Music, where he teaches classes on guitar techniques and styles ranging from classical to rock and jazz.

Rob has been featured on instructional material available on YouTube, the iTunes music store, and Amazon.com. Additionally, several of his tutorials were included on a video podcast honored on the iTunes list of the Top Ten Podcasts of 2008.

In 2008, Rob released his first full-length album, A Classic Christmas for Solo Guitar, featuring some of his most demanding guitar work. The album is available for download on his site.

Rob currently performs with the Atlanta Guitar Trio and is hard at work on more solo material.
