Rob Schumann was born on April 27, 1979 in Clinton, Iowa.  His family made several moves that brought them from the Midwest to the East Coast and finally to Atlanta, Georgia.  Rob’s love for music began at an early age through singing in choirs, playing the trumpet, and eventually learning the guitar. Rob graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor’s degree in music, with a concentration in classical guitar.

Professionally, Rob has experienced a wide array of environments and styles. He is a guitarist, a vocalist, a recording artist, a teacher, and a composer. In 2002, he joined the faculty of the Atlanta Institute of Music, where he taught classes on guitar techniques and styles ranging from classical to rock and jazz. Rob has been featured on instructional material available on YouTube, the iTunes music store, and Amazon.com. Additionally, several of his tutorials were included on a video podcast honored on the iTunes list of the Top Ten Podcasts of 2008. In 2008, Rob released his first solo album, A Classic Christmas for Solo Guitar, featuring some of his most demanding guitar work.

All of those experiences have been essential to Rob’s ministry, having served as a worship pastor in Tennessee and Georgia for the past 10 years. He is currently the worship pastor at East Side  Baptist Church in Paragould, Arkansas. Rob loves using all of his abilities to craft worship services to honor God, and to encourage others to grow both musically and spiritually.

Rob married the beautiful and talented Tunrade in 2006.  Their son, Xander, was born on April 6, 2008. They live in Paragould with their cantankerous cats, Rochester and Pandora, and their playful puppy Sansa.

His favorite number is 5.
